STATEMENT CALLING ON ALL PATRIOTIC MEN IN UNIFORM
AND FMR. COMMANDERS IN CHIEF AQUINO AND RAMOS TO SUPPORT THE PEOPLE AND THE
STATE NOW
The critical mass has been
reached. Last Friday the civilian
protesters in
After
weeks of courageous and candid testimony by Jun Lozada
directly linking the First Couple to the NBN-ZTE deal, the Filipino people are
calling for Gloria Arroyo’s resignation or ouster. But Gloria would rather be thick skinned and
deaf to the outrage and venom pouring out from the Filipino citizenry than out
of power. A crony had advised her “If
you give up power, you are dead”. Indeed
she knows that without power her crimes of corruption, treason, immorality,
killings, fraud, etc. since 2001 will ripen to a conviction worse than her
worst nightmares.
Thus
today the whole machinery of the state, all the resources of government
including its manpower, are being used not to serve the Filipino people, or
respond to the growing hunger and poverty especially of the poor but to defend
and sustain Gloria Arroyo’s deathly grip on power. She is not able to lead effectively,
governance is at a standstill, the people do not care to heed her and Malacanang’s single role is to preempt the people’s protest
actions against her. The national dam of
anger and outrage is about to break.
It
is therefore time for all our men in uniform to heed their mandate from our
Constitution. “The AFP is the protector
of the people and the State”. Without
the military as in Edsa 3, no amount of people power
will prosper. And if the military does
not act the present situation may soon escalate into a national bloody disaster
which other groups with hidden agenda may prefer to serve their interests. We therefore call on all our patriotic and
nationalist men in uniform to intervene NOW.
We
likewise call on former Commanders in Chief Corazon C. Aquino and Fidel Valdez
Ramos to help restore a chain of command that has become unwieldy and
shaky. The chain of command must be
brought back to its previous pristine purpose – to be at the service of the
Filipino people and not that of an impostor Commander in Chief and her personal
agenda nor that of a First Family already vomitted by
the people. Let not the gains of your
previous leadership and worthy efforts for the country be wasted and brought to
naught. Join us in our call for the
retired and active military to intervene with and for our people today and lead
them usher in a transition government and transition
council that will pave the way for genuine peace and prosperity for all of us
today.
We
must act all together NOW, both civilian and military. Let us lead this present Lenten Season to a
beautiful and glorious Resurrection.
Join us on March 14, 2008 Friday from 3-6p.m. at the Plaza Miranda. Mabuhay and Pilipinas! Mabuhay ang
Pilipino!!!
